Well the yard sale was a complete success! Thursday night I ended up having emergency oral surgery so I am afraid I wasn’t as helpful as I could have been to Garren. I seriously have an amazing husband.
We were able to sell most of the big items and a ton of small items. Looks like we may just be able to afford moving back east ;)
DaNae and Dillon came and hung out with us for a while. We ended up playing catch phrase, getting yelled at by a lady who thinks I am a horrible woman ( and blaming that fact on me being LDS) ( long story) and meeting the cutest older man and listening to his story about being in a coma for 3 months. He was adorable.
We went and watched The Host last night with them as well. I will admit The Host is the only Stephanie Meyer book I enjoy and the movie was decent. It had a great sound track!
We move into my uncles basement for the summer next Saturday! Moving to New Hampshire feels more and more real as the time goes on.
Garren graduates in a little less than 3 weeks and then we celebrate our 2nd anniversary! We are going camping!
I love my life.
Well I clearly took a little break from blogging but I am back! I will just fill you in on whats been going on with us the past month and a half :)
-Garren finished spring semesters with AMAZING grades :) He is so smart. He also just finished Microbiology in Maymester with an A. He is studying hard for the GRE in a few weeks.
-He is taking Chemistry I and II this summer semester.
On May 6th we celebrated our very first anniversary. I can’t believe we have been married for over a year now! It has certainly flown by, and has been the best year of my life. I love being married to my best friend.
To celebrate we stayed at a resort in St George. It was perfect because it was a nice getaway, and we didn’t have to spend half the weekend driving in the car to get there. He spoiled me :)
I’m still working in the hospital, and we recently took up swimming. Now that we have been married for a year becoming parents is always in the fore front of my mind. No this is not an announcement. Its still about a year in the future, however I am definitely preparing now by losing the weight I gained over the past couple of years, saving lots of money, and ye,s even refinishing baby furniture. My need to be a mom is unlike ayn other desire I have ever felt, and I am determined to be the best possible mom I can be.
Garren applies to grad school this summer! Its very nerve racking. I know he will get in and I just need to have enough faith. I am a planner by nature, and not knowing where we will be moving to in a years time Freaks me out! Luckily I also love adventure, so I am very excited about moving some where new with him :)
I got my wisdom teeth out Thursday. It was long over due. The first day was HORRIBLE. I told Garren I would rather deal with pain than be numb any day of my life. They tell you to take an antibiotic and the pain meds as soon as you get home… Well when your numb for 10 hours after it and cant keep water in your mouth that’s virtually impossible. Pain I can deal with. Just another reason (though significantly less important) as to why I will never get an epidural when having a baby.
Two favorite new movies : The Avengers and What to Expect when Your Expecting. SO good!
Sorry I don’t have any pictures!
Well this was my second time camping and it was SO fun! Shelby and Kali and their friend Mike and their labs Toby and Pepper came down to camp with us! We originally wanted to go camping at Red Cliffs, but by the time we got down there at 7:45 all the camp sites were taking so we continues on to Quail Lake and got a campsite there. It was gorgeous.
Kali and Shelby didn’t get down there till about 9:30 and to our dismay they close the gates! So after some… uh… finagling at the exit we manged to get them in, have a delicious dinner, and roast some marshmallows. I was really scared I was going to freeze all night but I was pleasantly surprised. I slept decently. I woke up at about 6:45 and had to pee like crazy (tmi?) so I walked out of the tent, with every intention of going back to sleep, until I saw this:
So I sat and watched the sunrise and made my very first solo fire :)
Eventually every one woke up and we decided to take the dogs down to the water and throw the ball for them, then we packed up and went back over to red cliffs to go hiking! :)
I went to take this picture, and they both made the same creepy face. Ha ha
Toby and Pepper
Part of beautiful hike!
The hike was amazing, and I am so glad I got to hang out with good friends and my amazing husband! OH! We also ran into my brother on the hike…. and he was holding hands with a girl! Oooh La la! :P
Tonight we are going to see this:
with Carlee and Trevor… and possibly Dillon and DaNae. SO EXCITED. Right now? I need a nap.
P.S. Pepe is a stud. Totally wasted on the freeway :)
Ok so earlier this week I was reading the dating diva’s blog (HERE) and saw a date one of the m did themed around a Mexican Fiesta, so I decided to make int my own! Our friends DaNae and Dillon joined us! Here is what we did!
So I wanted it to be a surprise for Garren. He was seriously amazing last week taking care of me after surgery so I wanted to show him how much I love and appreciate him! I decided to make fish tacos, one of his favorites, Spanish rice, and re-fried beans. Well the fish calls for a beer batter, and when I went to buy the beer I couldn’t do it! I am such a baby. I was too scared so I had to ask Garren to get it, therefore ruining the “what we are eating surprise.” But that’s ok :)
Any way Garren went over to DaNae and Dillon’s and watched basket ball while her and I decorated, hung the pinata, and made dinner. Oh I also made virgin mango margaritas. DELICIOUS.
Just Before the Date Began!
DaNae and Dillon enjoying the margaritas and dinner!
And us doing the same!
After dinner it was pinata time!
Garren had fun!
And so do Dillon!
DaNae and I made princess hats :)
After dinner and the pinata was cleaned up we watched Puss in Boots. Totally has a Spanish flavor so it worked :)
Super cute and funny movie
All in all it was a very successful date night….. Now I have to go to work from Midnight till 6 am. Woohoooo.
Yesterday was our very first Valentine’s Day as a married couple. It’s nice to know Valentine’s Day will never be lonely or miserable again! I made Garren breakfast (homemade chocolate pancakes, strawberry syrup and bacon) and The ABC’s of Our Love book. (As seen on pintrest :P) He loved it. He got me a new memory card for my camera and a yoga dvd I have been wanting! He had to go to school so I spent that time getting ready for our date. Then he took me to see The Vow.
Ok so the love story is beautiful and heart breaking. (SPOILER ALERT) I have this problem that while watching movies; they become my reality. I attempt to empathize and put myself into the situation, so basically I was a wreck during this movie. I do know that I would much rather be the one forgetting that to be the one forgotten. I get that either side had no control of their situation, but I just couldn’t handle it if Garren didn’t remember me, falling in love with me, or the life we have together. Nothing was more heart breaking then watching Leo sign those divorce papers. Ouch. The ending was only saved (in my opinion) by the fact that it was based loosely on a real story. She never regains her memory but they do fall in love with each other all over again and get married and have two children. It seemed the movie ended a bit abruptly though.
I love that they end up falling back in love and getting remarried. I don’t believe in soul mates, but I think that’s about as close as you can get :) Ok this wasn’t meant to turn into a movie review.
After the movie we went to The Little Brick House for dinner (YUM!) and then to the Globe Trotters! We had so much fun. I love being married to my best friend. We have so much fun together.
Here are some pictures for your view pleasure
During half time of the Globe Trotters "Game"
This is what Garren looks like when he sings. He will kill me for putting this up!
Its ok Babe! See I am weird too...
He loves me lots :)
Well its Friday! I am free from work and its date night! To start our date we went on a walk on this trail near our home. I love just walking and getting to talk to Garren. Its nice to not have a television, laptop, or cellphone to distract us. We came home and made dinner, which consisted of Tuna Melts (made with non fat Greek yogurt instead of mayonnaise) and sweet potato french fries. YUM! We are having a lot of fun turning all of our meals into healthy, delicious creations.
After dinner we watched a movie called, “Midnight in Paris”. It has Owen Wilson and Rachel McAdams. I had wanted to see this movie when I first saw a preview a few months ago and Garren sweetly agreed. It was amazing! I loved the story and the material was right up my alley. Paris is now on my travel dream list. The movie is about finding one’s self, appreciating the past, but ultimately discovering the beauty of the present. WATCH IT NOW :)
Tomorrow we are going to play racquet ball, shoot some hoops, go on a picnic, and I am going to work on his Valentines Day present! I love weekends with my Sugar Bear :)
